BASKING RIDGE FIRE COMPANY # 1
& FIRST AID SQUAD
WELCOMES NEW OFFICERS FOR 2007
Basking Ridge’s all-volunteer fire and emergency medical
services introduced their 2007 field officers at a banquet
held at the Olde Mill Inn on January 19, 2007. Chief Edward
J. McMahon proudly welcomed the Company’s newest fire
Captain - his son Matthew McMahon – to the officer corps.
Captain McMahon joins veteran Captains Duncan Watt, Nicholas
Ierubino and John Sabel. Deputy Chief Brendan Watt and
Assistant Chief Jack McGrath were welcomed back for their
second years in those positions.
The Company also welcomed newly-minted Second Lieutenant
Jody Jacobus to the ranks of its EMS officers. Lieutenant
Jacobus joins Squad Captain Peter von der Linde and First
Lieutenant Louise Fordham-Hale as the leaders of the
Company’s Emergency Medical Services branch.
Invited guests in attendance included Township Committee
Member John Carpenter and Mayor Mary Pavlini, Bernards
Township Police Chief Dennis Mott, Chief Marc Friedman of
the Liberty Corner Fire Company and Mark Rosenblum,
President of the Liberty Corner First Aid Squad.
All of Basking Ridge's firefighters and EMTs are part-time
volunteers from our community. If you are interested in
joining them, visit the firehouse at 30 Washington Street
(off of West Oak) any Monday evening from 7:00 pm until 9:00
pm. Click

There is no “typical EMS call”; each one is unique.
The first few steps, however, tend to run along
common lines. What follows is how a call usually

Who We Are
The
Basking Ridge Fire Company and First Aid Squad is a 100%
Volunteer organization. The majority of our funding comes
from donations made by the residents and businesses of Bernards Township. These dollars are used for purchasing new
equipment, equipment maintenance and the upkeep of our
building and physical plant. All donations are welcome and
tax deductible to the full extent of the law (please consult
your tax advisor regarding your individual deductibility
status).
Come by
and meet us. We’re at the firehouse on Washington Avenue
EVERY Monday night from 7:00-9:00. This is designated as our
“work night”. Its an opportunity for all members to help out
in the weekly maintenance of equipment and our building. Its
also a great way to meet the members and see what Fire
Fighting and First Aid are all about. Need more information
about joining our team? Write us at
membership@brfco.com.
