| Dave Johnson with son Billy and daughter Paige come out to watch the annual decorating of the tree. This year, they were the donors of the lovely 40 foot blue spruce. | Firefighter/EMT Duncan Watt keeps the lights glowing |
Each year a local property owner donates a tree which is in turn cut down and raised by the Fire Company at no charge to the township.
This year's tree was donated by Dave Johnson and family who tried to watch surreptitiously as decorating was in progress. But Dave, Paige and Billy were noticed by a squad member and asked to have their picture taken as work was underway. "It is a wonderful way we can show the kids about giving back to the community, the tree looks great!" Dave said. Earlier, Dave was noticed as he stopped his vehicle and donated some cash for the "fill the boot" campaign taking place simultaneous to the decorating. Thanks again to the Johnson's for being an integral part of this holiday's event.
Members of the Fire Company and First Aid Squad were happy to brave the cold and spend the morning decorating the beautifully shaped 40 foot blue spruce.
