Firefighter Meatloaf

(Microwave or Oven)

1 ½ lbs ground beef
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 cup milk
1 egg
¼ cup chopped onion (about 1 small)
¼ cup chopped green pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon ground sage
3 tablespoons barbecue sauce

Mix all ingredients except barbecue sauce. Form loaf in 9 x 5 x 3 in. dish. Spread barbecue sauce over meat mixture.

Insert probe and use recipe # 6 on Kenmore microwave. Turn once at 110 degrees. For other microwaves, cover with waxed paper and microwave on medium-high (70%) 12 minutes; rotate ½ turn. Microwave 13 to 16 minutes more. Let stand 5 minutes.

If using the oven, set to 375 degrees and cook about an hour to an internal temperature of 170 degrees. Let stand 5 minutes.

If you're feeding a hungry crew, this goes well with Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
